SEATTLE, WA – February 17, 2026 – Aiua Clothing, a new Seattle-based sustainable apparel company, today announced the launch of its debut line of 100% merino wool activewear. Founded on the principle that athletic performance and environmental sustainability can be complementary, not in conflict, the brand offers clothing for athletics, the outdoors, and everyday use that is free from synthetic, plastic fabrics.
The inaugural collection features lightweight tank tops, t-shirts, and long-sleeved quarter-zips for both men and women in a variety of muted, sophisticated colors. Each piece is crafted from 100% extra-fine Australian merino wool, designed for freedom of movement, natural breathability and odor resistance, and thermoregulation. Unlike traditional activewear made from polyester or nylon, Aiua’s pieces can be worn multiple times between washes, thanks to the natural properties of the merino fiber.

“One-third of all microplastic pollution in the ocean comes from textiles,” John explained. “Every time we load our washing machines with fast fashion and polyester workout clothes, up to 700,000 pieces of microplastic are drained into our waterways, and eventually end up in our bodies. We looked at this system and thought, ‘There must be a better way.’ Aiua is our attempt at finding that way.”
