FAQ
About Merino Wool
What makes merino wool different from regular wool?
As you may have guessed, merino wool
comes from the merino sheep, which is bred to produce thin wool fibers, much
finer than traditional wool. Merino wool is usually about 18-24 microns, or
one-third the widths of a human hair, compared to 30+ microns for regular wool.
This makes it incredibly soft, non-itchy, and comfortable against your skin.
It's also naturally moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating, and
odor-resistant.
Will merino wool make me too hot during workouts?
No! Merino wool is naturally
thermoregulating, meaning it keeps you cool when it's warm and warm when it's
cool. The fibers wick moisture away from your skin and allow excellent airflow,
making it ideal for intense workouts in any season.
Is merino wool itchy like regular wool?
Not at all. Our premium merino wool
has ultra-fine fibers that feel soft and smooth against your skin. Many
customers say it feels even softer than cotton or synthetic materials.
Why does merino wool resist odors?
Merino wool has natural antimicrobial
properties that prevent bacteria from building up. You can often wear merino
pieces multiple times between washes without any smell. We dive more into the
science behind merino wool's odor control properties here.
Product Care
How do I wash my merino wool activewear?
Wash in cool water (30°C/86°F or less)
on a gentle cycle with wool-specific or mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener
and bleach. We recommend washing after every 2-3 wears rather than after each
use, thanks to merino's natural odor resistance.
Can I put merino wool in the dryer?
We recommend air drying to preserve
the fabric's natural properties and prevent shrinkage. Lay flat to dry away
from direct heat or sunlight. If you must use a dryer, use the lowest heat
setting for minimal time.
Will my merino wool pieces shrink?
When cared for properly (cold water,
air dry), merino wool should not shrink significantly. Hot water and high heat
can cause shrinkage, which is why we recommend cold water washing and air
drying.
How often should I wash my merino wool activewear?
Thanks to merino's natural odor
resistance, you can typically wear pieces several times between washes for
normal activities, or after each intense workout. This actually extends the
life of the garment compared to washing after every single use.

recovery, so it moves with your body without being restrictive. Our pieces are

Does merino wool stretch out over time?

shape well. While it has natural give for comfort and movement, it generally returns to its original shape.
Sustainability & Ethics
Is your merino wool ethically sourced?
Yes. We work only with suppliers who
follow strict animal welfare standards. Our merino wool is RWS certified.
How is merino wool more sustainable than synthetic activewear?
Merino wool is completely
biodegradable and renewable. Unlike synthetic fabrics that shed microplastics
into waterways with every wash, merino wool breaks down naturally at the end of
its life. Plus, you can wear it multiple times between washes, reducing water
usage.
Where is your merino wool sourced from?
Our merino wool comes from farms in
Australia that meet our strict standards for animal welfare and environmental
stewardship.
Performance & Features
Can I wear merino wool for high-intensity workouts?
Absolutely! Merino wool excels at
moisture management and temperature regulation, making it perfect for
everything from yoga to HIIT workouts to long runs. Many professional athletes
prefer merino for its performance benefits.
Is merino wool good for sensitive skin?
Yes, merino wool is naturally
hypoallergenic and much gentler on sensitive skin than synthetic materials. The
smooth, fine fibers don't irritate skin like coarser fabrics can.
How does merino compare to synthetic materials for athletic performance?
Merino wool offers superior odor
resistance, better temperature regulation, and moisture management without the
clammy feeling that synthetic fabrics can create. It also doesn't retain odors
like synthetic materials do over time.
